Bio
Elisa Ford is currently competing in track and field with a concentration in field events. She is the first person to win 3 events on the Philadelphia High School individual championships and the all-public championships. She received an athletic scholarship to Northeastern University and Arizona State University and chose to attend Arizona State University. She completed 2 years in Arizona but took ill and had to come home. Elisa was an Olympic hopeful in 1980 but because of the Russia boycott, the USA did not participate.
Elisa has since served as the assistant basketball coach at Lincon University, assistant coach for the Yeadon track club, and the assistant coach for The Shipley School. She also taught in the Philadelphia School District.
Elisa is an alumni of DCCC where she briefly played on the basketball team. She was involved in many activities on campus and served as the VP of Phi Theat Kappa National Honor Society. She was on the Presidents during her time at DCCC and graduated with honors.
DCCC was the catalyst that got Elisa back on track to receive her associates, bachelor’s and her master’s degree. Elisa loves track and field and enjoys sharing her experiences and expertise with others. Elisa will be participating in the National Senior Games in July of 2025 as she journeys to the 2028 Olympics in LA.
