Bio
Chris Coates will be joining the coaching staff as a volunteer for his first year with the DCCC track and field programs.
Chris attended Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester, PA where he ran cross country and track and field for the golden knights all four years. Chris was the first male in school history to compete at the state meet for cross country and still holds the school two mile outdoor track record.
After High School Chris attended Kutztown University, pursuing a degree in Social Work. While at Kutztown, he competed in four seasons of collegiate cross country along with indoor and outdoor track & field. As an athlete at Kutztown, Chris entered several of the top 10 all-time lists. After competing for Kutztown, Chris returned as an assistant coach, mainly working with the distance program. In 2022, he decided to return to Kutztown and pursue his master’s in social work. During this time, Chris was the graduate student for the cross country and tack & fields program. In his free time, Chris still enjoys traveling and helping the Kutztown program as a volunteer when he can. He is very excited to work with the DCCC distance athletes!
