
Phantoms Hold on to Win Tight Contest Over Salem County to Improve to 2-0
CHESTER, Pa - Delaware County Community College outlasts Salem County College in the final stages of the game to improve to 2-0 on the season. Much like the season opener the Phantoms took control of the game early in the first half and would carry a large lead into the second half.
The Mighty Oaks attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, shooting more than 20 percent higher from beyond the three-point line. Phantoms managed to hang on in the final minutes just outpacing Salem in as they drew within just one point in the final seconds of competition.
The Phantoms offense was led by Malik Cook-Stephens for the second time in consecutive games, finishing with 27 points on the night with 19 of those points coming in the second half. Sahmir Massenburg and Chase Johnson both added 10 points and four rebounds to the stat line.
Delaware County is back in action on Tuesday, November 14th at FiDonce Gymnasium, Tip off is set for 7:00pm. Go Phantoms!
